Arvo Ojala Exhibits
Arvo Ojala was best known in the public eye as a Fast Draw Champion and Fast Draw Trainer to many of Hollywood's Elite during the Hey Day of Hollywood B Westerns. From the 1930s through the early 1970s, Hollywood was producing Western Genre films in droves and Arvo Ojala was responsible for teaching hundreds of Hollywood's actors and actresses. Arvo Ojala was in demand well into the 1990s and his professional career spanned over 50 years, well beyond that of many of his counterparts. The list of Hollywood credits attributable to Arvo Ojala are too numerous to mention here, although his credits can be found on the Arvo Ojala Biography Page.
Over Arvo Ojala's career, this very diverse man maintained many interests not limited to Hollywood, but in Gun Collecting and working on Firearms. Many of the Colt SAA Firearms Arvo Ojala worked on, command very high dollars in the collectibles market. Also, Arvo Ojala was the inventor of the Hollywood Fast Draw Holster, which he patented and marketed to the general public. Included in this section of the Arvo Ojala Museum, are some examples from the Arvo Ojala Colt Collection or from the Arvo Ojala Drop Loop Gun Belts & Holsters, including the Gunsmoke Rig and the Hollywood Rig Arvo Ojala was so famous for within the Fast Draw community.
We hope, in the future, to bring you additional exhibits including the famous Arvo Ojala Silverado Colts and the Double Drop Gun Belt & Holster they were housed in while being worn by Kevin Costner in the movie Silverado from 1985.
